Job Details:
The Charge Entry Specialist is responsible for entering and reconciling all daily charge batches. The Specialistwill identify and research all incomplete and/or missing charges. The Specialist will maintain strong working relationships with physicians and practice staff in order to identify and address any issues which will impact the processing of charges and/or maximizing collectable charges. Performs a variety of duties requiring some independent judgment and knowledge of hospital procedures, assigning proper ICD-9 and CPT codes, and applying applicable modifiers, when necessary.
Education & Training:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Medical terminology preferred. Coding/billing courseworkwill be considered in lieu of experience.American Academy of Professional Coders Certification, CPC preferred.
Work Orientation &
Experience:Twoyears' experience in a medical billing environment, knowledge of insurance and coding preferred, working knowledge of PC systems and related software applications is required. Experience with ICD-9 and CPT coding.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
